Guitarist, songwriter, singer, and music producer Chris Aguayo, in collaboration with his Inner Sounds band partner Zac Carson and Uruguayan singer Agustina Giovio, released the single “The One” on April 21. “The One” is a duet between Giovio and Aguayo. It was produced and mixed executively by Aguayo, co-produced by Carson and Giovio, and mastered by Grammy-Award-Winning Mark Christensen at Engine Room Audio in New York City.
Aguayo graduated cum laude from Moravian in 2015 with a bachelor of music in composition (classical) and performance (jazz guitar). As a singer, his music blends rock, blues, and alternative genres. His writing style as a guitarist and producer for other singers blends funky pop, rock, and soulful jazz.
Aquayo’s songs can be heard in the films A Score to Settle by Shaun Ku, starring Nicolas Cage and Benjamin Bratt, and Night Sweats, starring John Wesley Shipp. Night Sweats features “Good Enough” by Inner Sounds. Aguayo has appeared on WFMZ-TV and performed at well-known music venues including Webster Hall, Starland Ballroom, Rockwood Music Hall, The Stone Pony, The Gin Mill, and the Chameleon Club. His band Inner Sounds released its debut album on January 1, 2019. It is a modern psych-rock-electro concept album about the connection between self-acceptance, darkness, and love.
In April, 2020, Aguayo recorded live (via iPhone 6 due to the pandemic) and released his 6-minute solo guitar composition “Disastrous,” which showcases his latest abilities as guitarist. Keep year ear to the soundwaves for more music to come this year from Aguayo and his partners. To learn more, visit chrisaguayo.com or follow Inner Sounds @innersoundsband.
