Moravian’s Athletics Giving Challenge kicks off on Monday, November 11, and lasts through Sunday, November 17. Moravian’s student-athletes are committed in competition, achieve excellence in academics, and are leaders in the community. Help us back the pack and reach 2,000 supporters in seven days!

Moravian’s first football game dates back to 1898 (wow!), and for the past 126 years, Moravian’s student-athletes have been committed in competition. Our Greyhounds have amassed 156 conference championships, honored 243 all-American athletes, and earned 59 NCAA Tournament berths. Fast-forward to today, and more than 540 Greyhounds compete on 23 varsity teams, with men’s and women’s swimming and women’s golf teams recently added to the lineup. And our student-athlete population keeps growing!

The 2023–2024 academic year saw impressive classroom statistics from our Greyhounds, as they achieved excellence in academics. The average grade-point average (GPA) across all teams was 3.20, with 26 student-athletes ending the year with a 4.0. Women’s cross country ranked at the top with a team GPA of 3.67. Other top performers last year were women’s track and field (3.62), women’s tennis (3.57), men’s cross country (3.27), men’s tennis (3.10), and men’s soccer (3.08).

Moravian’s student-athletes are also leaders in the community. They are often found volunteering in the community, whether as entire rosters teaming up for Moravian’s annual Heritage Day celebration or individuals mentoring local elementary school students in between their busy practice and game schedules. Donating their time in the community is important to our Greyhounds.

Your support of our well-rounded student-athletes makes a difference. During the Athletics Giving Challenge, our teams are fundraising for various needs, including equipment and gear upgrades, software enhancements, spring break and international trips that support team bonding, and more! You can help teams have an experience like that of the men’s basketball team, which traveled to Montreal, Canada, during fall break to play teams from there.

Give a gift during the Athletics Giving Challenge to support your favorite team or any area of Moravian Athletics that is personally meaningful to you. Our greatest need is the Blue & Grey Fund, which supports all student-athletes. Every gift, no matter the size, has a direct impact on our Greyhounds!
