Under a new agreement between Immaculata and Moravian Universities, graduates with a Bachelor of Arts in Music at Moravian receive guaranteed preferred acceptance into Immaculata’s graduate music therapy program. In addition, Moravian students receive a 20 percent tuition discount on Immaculata music therapy programs.

Immaculata’s master’s in music therapy programs provide extensive training in the musical, clinical, and theoretical components of music therapy, allowing students to use music skills to help people improve their quality of life. There are two track options:

  • The Master of Music Therapy and Counseling (MMTC) emphasizes psychotherapeutic practices integrating mental health counseling and music therapy. This degree fulfills Pennsylvania’s academic requirements to become a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC).
  • The Master of Arts in Music Therapy (MAMT) focuses on professional practice in music therapy.

All courses are offered face-to-face on the University’s campus in Malvern in the evening and on weekends. This convenient schedule supports working professionals, and the programs can be completed in four to eight semesters, depending on the program track. Since Moravian does not have an undergraduate degree in music therapy, Immaculata offers equivalency courses designed for such students. With these classes, students can obtain board certification during their course sequence, which allows them to begin their music therapy career before graduation.
