Mo’s Cupboard serves Moravian students 24 hours a day, 7 days a week

BETHLEHEM, PA, March 5, 2024: Today, Moravian University announced it’s been awarded funding for the 2023-24 PA Hunger-Free Campus grant program, part of Governor Josh Shapiro’s PA Hunger-Free Campus initiative. Moravian University has been awarded a $19,985 grant to help fund the expansion of Mo’s Cupboard which addresses food insecurity on campus and provides not only food, but other resources for students in need.

“We’re grateful to be awarded these funds which directly benefit Moravian students on campus that may need help,” commented Greg Meyer, dean for community wellness at Moravian University. “Mo’s Cupboard relies on donations of money and supplies from the community and while we’ve enjoyed tremendous support, additional funding for our students is a huge help and always welcome.”

The main purpose of the grant is to expand Mo’s Cupboard’s footprint by creating two satellite locations on Moravian’s Bethlehem campus. There will now be two new locations, one on the Priscilla Payne Hurd (South) campus and a new location in the Sports Medicine and Rehabilitation Center (SMRC).  With the addition of two new locations, more students will have access to fresh and shelf-stable food items and toiletries as well as dorm and cleaning supplies.
