Bethlehem, PA, June 28, 2023: Today, Moravian University announced that the Rev. Dr. Heather Vacek, Dean of the Moravian Theological Seminary and Lancaster Theological Seminary, has submitted her resignation as of August 11, 2023. Vacek has been instrumental in leading both Seminaries since the combination of institutions began in 2021. Vacek’s impact will be felt for years to come as the foundation she established will make both institutions stronger in the near- and long-term future.
Rev. Dr. Vacek will continue to work through August 11 to situate the Seminaries to be in the best position for new leadership. A committee is being formed to work on the next chapter in the Seminaries’ history and a message will be sent to key stakeholders in both seminary communities within the next week.
