What do these people have in common?
They were all first-generation college students: People who went to college but whose parents did not or did not finish a bachelor’s degree.
The return on investment of a college education has been under question for a long time, and the scrutiny continues. Compared with stocks, bonds or other investments, the ROI for college takes place over decades. That can be hard for a first-gen student to understand, but the patience required is worth it.
