Hosfeld returns to her alma mater in a time of unprecedented growth for the university

BETHLEHEM, PA, September 26, 2024: Today, Moravian University announced it has appointed Heather K. Hosfeld, Esq. ’92 as its first Vice President and General Counsel. Ms. Hosfeld is a 1992 graduate of Moravian College and has served as part-time counsel for the university since October of 2022 through an arrangement with Lehigh University in Bethlehem, Pennsylvania. Ms. Hosfeld brings to Moravian more than twenty years of experience in the practice of higher education law.

In her role as Deputy General Counsel for Lehigh University, Ms. Hosfeld has served as a trusted advisor to the university and its officers, colleges, faculty, and academic and administrative departments in a variety of practice areas, including employment, real estate, equal opportunity and nondiscrimination, corporate transactions, litigation and dispute resolution, legal compliance, and university governance. Ms. Hosfeld will continue her position with Lehigh University one day a week through the end of December to assist with the transition.

Before joining Lehigh, Ms. Hosfeld was an attorney at Bethlehem Steel Corporation from 2001 until its dissolution in December 2003, and a corporate paralegal from 1995 through 2001. While at Bethlehem Steel, she worked as a generalist, with an emphasis in corporate transactions and governance, securities regulation and compliance, and employee benefits. 

Ms. Hosfeld received her Juris Doctor in 2001 from Temple University, her Paralegal Certificate in 1995 from the Pennsylvania State University, and her Bachelor of Arts degree in 1992 from Moravian College.

Ms. Hosfeld is admitted to the bar of the Pennsylvania Supreme Court and is a member of the Pennsylvania, Northampton County, and Lehigh County Bar Associations. She is also a member of the National Association of College and University Attorneys.
