The new Hungry Hound Express food truck offers students a bite to eat at Houndfest.

Moravian’s campus is buzzing with excitement over a variety of updates and innovations for the community.

Tap ID Cards

This semester, tap ID cards have been distributed throughout campus. Students, faculty, and staff will no longer have to swipe into their residence halls, the Star, classrooms, the library, or the fitness center. With this tech-savvy upgrade, a simple tap will do.

Res Life

Some residence halls underwent renovations this past summer designed to create comfortable and aesthetically pleasing spaces for students living on campus.

The office of facilities management installed AC units in Bernie-Willie. This long-awaited development comes as a relief to the incoming freshman class and represents the university’s commitment to student needs.

Housing for upper-class students received a facelift this summer. Fresh paint and new siding brightened the exteriors of the resident townhouses.

Food

One of the most exciting additions to campus this semester is the introduction of the Hungry Hound Express food truck. This mobile eatery can be found around campus and will pop up at specific events throughout the year. Hungry Hound accepts Dining Dollars, Hound Bucks, and credit, debit, and mobile payments. To keep up with the Hungry Hound food truck, follow @hungryhoundexpress on Instagram or text “MUFoodTruck” to 82257 to receive text updates.

Inside the Sally on the way to DeLight’s Café, you’ll find a brand-new Yo-Kai Express noodle machine. This innovative appliance prepares ready-to-eat noodle bowls in 90 seconds and accepts Dining Dollars, Hound Bucks, and card and mobile payments. Keep an eye out for another installment at the HILL later this semester!

Fitness Center and Athletics

Moravian’s athletics and recreation center welcomes several upgrades to elevate the workout and training experience for the Moravian community. The fitness center installed brand-new cardio machines: treadmills, ellipticals, StairMasters, stationary bikes, and Peloton bikes! The cardio equipment offers special features such as built-in charging stations, and Peloton regulars can create a free account through Moravian.

In addition to the cardio equipment, a new area for powerlifting has been designated. Located in the middle of the fitness center are two platforms for users to safely practice various Olympic-style lifts. This upgrade increases the training options for gym-goers and provides a safe environment.

Student-athletes enjoy an enhanced training experience as well. The freshly painted performance center received new foam rollers for recovery, brand-new vertical testing equipment, and leaderboards. New flooring helps support recovery from workouts.

EV Charging Stations

The installation of vehicle charging stations is part of Moravian’s ongoing commitment to reduce its carbon footprint and accommodate electric vehicles on campus. The stations can be found in lot A and commuter lot X.

All of these upgrades represent Moravian University’s commitment to providing students, faculty, and staff with a top-notch campus experience. —Allison Ludlow ’24
