According to a recent Brookings report, artificial intelligence (AI) can support learning but can also undermine it when students rely on it too heavily. After interviewing over 500 students, teachers, parents, education leaders, and technologists across 50 countries and reviewing 400 studies on the topic, the report’s authors warned that these tools should “teach, not tell,” emphasizing that overuse can weaken students’ ability to think independently.
