Jack Ertle ’26 is a finance major with a minor in accounting who is set to graduate in May. You’ve probably seen him around campus thanks to the many clubs, Greek organizations, honor societies, and fundraising efforts he participates in.

He is the two-term vice president of the Delta Tau Delta Fraternity; the 2025 president of Moravian’s Inter-Fraternity Council; one of the founding members and treasurer of the Volleyball Club; treasurer of the Cheese Club; a participant in Moravian’s Phonathon; a Student Alumni Representative (STARS); and member of the Omicron Delta Kappa and Omicron Delta Epsilon honor societies. Ertle has also worked as a manager at the HUB Information Desk since his freshman year in 2022.
Q: Why did you choose to study finance?
A: I have always taken a keen interest in business. When it was time to commit to a major, I decided finance was the best route for my future career interests.
Q: Where are you from?
A: I am from Kunkletown, PA, in the Poconos. I was born at [St. Luke’s University Hospital in Bethlehem] and raised in the Poconos.
Q: What’s next after you graduate?
A: I plan on working for Delta Tau Delta Nationals as a National Consultant. In this role, I would travel to chapters across the nation, ensuring each chapter is meeting expectations and is operating efficiently. One of the projects I would have is traveling to a campus that does not have a Delta chapter, and help to create a colony that would eventually earn its charter.
Q: What have you discovered about yourself since you’ve been at Moravian?
A: I have been empowered to become a leader both on and off campus. Along with leading by example, I have been able to gain a great education and understanding of the finance landscape. Finally, I have been able to develop lifelong friendships with my fraternity brothers and fellow Hounds.
Q: Share something about yourself that may surprise people?
A: I have played the baritone since 4th grade.
Q: What is your favorite thing to do when you’re not studying and why?
A: Spending time with my friends on campus. Whether it be throwing a football, lounging in the Delt house, or going on a nature walk. Anytime I get to spend time with my friends is a new memory made.
Q: What is your favorite book and why?
A: The Hunger Games series, specifically Catching Fire. I read the book series in eighth grade, and Catching Fire stood out to me due to the character development and tension building among the districts.
Q: Who inspires you?
A: My father and mother inspire me every day to be the best version of myself and to always stay positive, no matter the circumstances.
