Bethlehem, Pa., June 6, 2025 — Today, Moravian University welcomed members of the media and Lehigh Valley community organizations for an exclusive first look at the construction site of its newest project—the HUB, a transformative, state-of-the-art student center designed to foster student wellness, community, and academic and career success. The HUB is scheduled to open in Fall 2025.

President Bryon Grigsby, Chief Financial Officer Mark Reed, Dean of Students Nicole Loyd, and Brittany Dewar of Warfel Construction were available following the walkthrough of the in-progress space, providing insights into the university’s vision for a student-centered environment that integrates physical and mental health services with student life and support functions.

“The HUB represents the future of student life at Moravian,” said President Bryon Grigsby. “We have designed this space to serve the whole student—supporting wellness, academic performance, career preparation, and a strong sense of belonging in one unified space.”

The new student center will include the University’s Health Center, Counseling Center, and key student support offices, along with quiet reflection spaces, meeting rooms, and conference facilities that can accommodate up to 500 guests. Apple technology will be featured throughout the building to support academic success and collaboration among students, faculty and staff.

The HUB has earned WELL Precertification from the International WELL Building Institute—recognizing buildings designed to enhance human health and well-being through intentional, evidence-based design. It is one of only two higher education facilities in Pennsylvania to achieve this recognition, joining a building at the University of Pennsylvania’s Wharton School.

Highlights of the HUB include:

  • A central home for integrated Health and Counseling Services
  • Wellness-focused design, including natural light, quiet zones, and open study areas
  • Dedicated spaces for student organizations, multi-faith prayer, mindfulness, and community-building
  • Enhanced access to Career Services, Student Life, Veterans Affairs, and other support offices
  • Sustainable, inclusive, and student-informed construction

The HUB is part of Moravian’s ongoing commitment to delivering an exceptional student experience rooted in care, innovation, and purpose. Renderings and photos from the June 6 site tour are available upon request.
